Created during Liverpool’s success as a maritime city, the area has a rich heritage. It is the ongoing focus of much of the City’s regeneration plan which sees Liverpool Vision, the Strategic Regeneration Framework, Liverpool Council and the North West Development Agency working together to build on the very positive elements of the place, its people and its drive for prosperity.
Home to both the City’s Premiership Football Clubs, with Liverpool FC’s stadium in Anfield (L5) and Everton FC’s Goodison Park stadium located less than a mile away in Walton (L4), there is no shortage of atmosphere on match days!
For those who enjoy participating as well as watching, sport and leisure facilities are available at Lifestyles fitness centres in Walton (L4); Everton Park (L5); Norris Green and Croxteth (L11) and West Derby (L12). Cricket Clubs exist in Maghull (L31) and Bootle (L20); Tennis can be played at Vagabonds Lawn Tennis Club, Old Swan (L13); and Liverpool North Golf Course is located in Kirkby (L32) .
There is no shortage of fantastic open green space either. Stanley Park in the heart of Walton (L4), Croxteth Country Park(L11) and Newsham Park between Tuebrook and Fairfield (L6) are all Grade II listed, while the more modern Everton Park (L5) has stunning views over the City and smaller community parks like Doric Park can be found tucked away in Old Swan (L13).
For shopping the busy high streets of Anfield (L4), Walton (L4), Orrell Park (L9), Bootle (L30) and Fazakerley (L9) can provide all you need as well as plenty of restaurants and bars. Multiplex cinemas can be found in Croxteth (L11); Old Swan (L13) and Bootle (L30), with libraries in the majority of areas.
A wide range of good schools and colleges for all ages exist locally, from the well-known private Merchant Taylors’ School in Crosby (L23) to the new North Liverpool Academy in Everton (L5).
Transport links make the area a good base for commuters both into and out of Liverpool. From Bootle (L30) the M57 connects directly to South Liverpool and the M62 for routes to Manchester, Leeds and Hull, while the M58 takes drivers straight to the M6 for all routes North and South. Merseyrail Northern Line stations take passengers from Lime Street out as far as Southport, Ormskirk and Kirkby for connections to Manchester, Wigan and Preston. As with all of Liverpool, the bus timetable for the area is comprehensive.
It is hard to imagine a more varied area than North Liverpool. Each location within it has its own identity and its own unique appeal to each section of the property market.
Popular areas for investors include Anfield, Walton (L4), Everton (L5), Tuebrook (L13), Kensington (L7) and Fairfield (L6), where demand for affordable property to buy or rent is high and where the regeneration process makes for a good long term prospect.
First time buyers also look to these areas for an affordable first step on the property ladder, as well as Old Swan (L13), which retains a solid community feel and a good high street.
These points also make Old Swan (L13) appealing to young families, who often also head for West Derby (L12) and Croxteth (L11) for the schooling and open spaces.
A slower pace of life, further away from the City can be found nearer the coast in Crosby (L23) and the surrounding areas.
Whoever you are and whatever you are looking for, Move Residential will help you find the right location and the right property.
